Hair Recovery for Spring

Without fail, the main complaint we get this year is dryness. Scalp, ends, everything is feeling the effects of a long, dry winter. So, how do we combat this as we move into Spring and start preparing our hair for the sunshine and weather of Spring?

It’s important to get your scalp some moisture. A lot of people complain about slight flakiness this time of year. It isn’t dandruff if it is dry and itchy, it is dry scalp. Davines Nourishing shampoo soothes dry scalp and gets rid of any dry flakiness that may be a result of the winter dryness. What a lot of people don’t know is you can actually leave Davines’s NaturalTech line sitting on your scalp for up to 10 minutes to reap the full benefits. It’s like a treatment for your scalp that won’t leave you greasy like a conditioner would.

Next we need to address the dryness in the ends of the hair. First a highly moisturizing conditioner is going to help. We love Davines Nourishing ConditionerBumble & Bumble Hairdresser Invisible Oil Conditioner, and Davines MOMO Conditioner. Again, any of these can be left in longer to reap extra benefits.

Once you are out of the shower we always recommend a leave in conditioner/primer to continue getting the max amount of moisture into your hair. This time of year we absolutely love (who are we kidding, we love it all year) Bumble & Bumble’s Hairdressers Invisible Oil Primer because it boast heat protection, UV protection and 6 natural oils and now that the sun is showing it’s face again, we need it!

So if you are doing all that and still feel that you need a little extra moisture boost then we recommend getting a hair treatment. There are options for in salon treatments or you can purchase a hair mask to take home and use. For take home treatments out favorites are Bumble & Bumble While You Sleep overnight mask for anyone who has color treated hair or Davines Nou Nou Hair Treatment for anyone who just needs more moisture.

Let’s get your hair nice and happy now that the long dry winter is over!
